What Is Savvy? What Are The Pros And Cons Of Using Savvy To Find Less Expensive Insurance

Pros of using Savvy to find the insurance that best suits your needs:

A one-stop shop solution. You won’t be locked into anything. You can “shop around” without worrying about researching by yourself. It’s absolutely free. Savvy provides you options you would not have heard of while giving you as much information to help you make a smart-decision.

You can’t narrow your option to only insurance companies that offer a rideshare endorsement, which is an important factor for rideshare drivers. If you use Savvy paired with logging into your present insurance through their process, it doesn’t auto-fill the coverage amount, so you have to enter the deductibles by yourself.

Why Should Drivers Be Using Savvy?

Savvy makes it simpler for you to be aware of your options and compare it with your current insurance. It helps you to discover what you need effortlessly and rapidly. With the insurance industry flooded with a plethora of options, it makes it difficult for a person to research them all by oneself. Savvy gives you the best options to choose from without investing hours in research.

How Quickly Can You Compare Auto Insurance Quotes With Savvy?

It took me no more than 20 minutes to get a new auto insurance quote with Savvy. Let us walk through the entire process.

Choose Your Current Insurance Company

Savvy will first ask you the company with which you have insured your presently. In my case, I chose State Farm because I have their insurance presently.

Connect Your Existing Auto Insurance Account

In the next step, it asks you to connect your existing insurance account. It gives you an option to compare without connecting, but I chose to connect to my State Farm account.

Compare Your Options

Then, it formulates a list of what Savvy considers your best fit. I went with Liberty Mutual which was the top option suggested to me.

Make A Comparison Of Your Quotes

Afterward, it found the vehicles I have on my current plan and started compiling my quote.

Twist To Get The Best Fitted Insurance Policy

After getting my quote, I twisted the deductibles and got the numbers I have on my current plan. That obviously altered the quote. The actual estimate was $139.17 supposing that I qualify for all the discounts they have commuted into the price. The second estimate came out to be $150.25 with the deductible I wanted. It was certainly less than what I am currently paying with State Farm. But the issue is Liberty Mutual does not offer a rideshare endorsement. There was no option available to add it to the quote, but I supposed it is not the most well-known thing, so I went ahead to use their chat feature to be sure. Then, I cross-checked to see we were on the same page, and she confirmed that the driver would not be covered at all when the app is in use. But if you come to think of it, it is not actually Savvy’s fault. It is something that drivers have to be aware of. Some insurance companies offer rideshare endorsements while some do not. Even though rideshare endorsement is highly recommended, the next best thing you can do is to look for an insurance company that will at least allow you to drive rideshare without knocking you off if you get into an accident while driving for rideshare.

Cross Check Savvy’s ‘Included’ Features And Those Offered By The Insurance Company

This one thing that I came across shocked me. Liberty Mutual had a section that revealed the included features. One of the included ‘features’ was rental car reimbursement. It was something that I was happy to see as usually you have to pay extra money for that. However, when I scrolled to look at my deductibles and other things I could add-on, I noticed that Rental Car Reimbursement was something to add. I found it strange that it was included in one spot but then it had to be added (for a cost mind you) in a different spot.

Do You Have To Pay To Use Savvy?

Absolutely no! Savvy is 100% free to use. You do not have to pay for any services unless you do not have to switch to a different company. In any case if you have choose to switch, then you have to pay whatever amount is agreed upon.

Is Savvy Credible?

I would say, it is credible. It has a wide range of insurance companies that it will pair you up with and help you get a quote. Savvy lives by whatever it says it will do. They do not require you to fill in any credit card details. Also, if you do not wish to link up your current insurance account, you can opt not to. You have the option to skip that step, so they do not have any access to that information.

Final Words

Savvy is your one stop shop for finding insurance if you are looking for a better deal that you already have. But ensure that you are aware of any difference that you might not like- such as lack of a rideshare endorsement. Pay attention when you are looking at the insurance options given to you. They might not offer you the same coverage that you are looking for. You have the option to ask a few questions and get clarification. Most insurance companies offer chat support and provide you a contact number or email to get your questions answered. If you are looking for new insurance, you can consider using Savvy to save you some effort and time. So drivers, when did you last compare your auto insurance policy with another competitor?
