When you are watching a movie, you can’t really tell what went behind-the-scenes and that’s definitely intriguing (we feel so!). You can’t expect smooth sailing during the filming process as the celebrities are not always in a great mood and might throw certain tantrums on the set. Some are acceptable while others are irrational. That’s when things get intense and make headlines. Here are a few of those unrealistic demands made on set by the popular movie stars!
Will Smith
The star of “Men in Black 3” definitely had some extraordinary demands for the time he spends on the movie set. If you have started to wonder what this actor ordered during the filming, then you need to go a little far.
He had three rooms while he was shooting for “Men in Black 3”. One trailer was entirely dedicated to his makeup and another one for meetings with his writers. Thinking what the third one was? An apartment that had a rent of $25,000/month.
How realistic would you say these tantrums are?
Sarah Jessica Parker
Who doesn’t love this stunning actress especially after her award-winning performances in hit shows? Her fame is growing constantly and even if she makes a few demands on the set, they have a justification. But what if they turn out to be insane? This is what happened during the filming of the HBO series “Divorce” in which Parker plays the role of Frances Dufresne.
According to her contract for this show, she had every right to order the beginning and the end of the shoot. She can choose when the shot needs to “cut”. Also, she has stated that no one would click pictures or make videos while she is eating. We can’t really wrap our heads around such “classy” requests!
Julia Roberts
When Julia Roberts is on set, she has every little thing taken care of and whatever she asks for is presented to her in a second. Perks of being a world-famous actress, right?
Many of her demands are now known to every member of the industry while a few are still shocking for the team that is involved in the filming. Her strict requirement for 4 gallons of Evian water on a daily basis sounds a little too much but she cannot manage without this. So, her demand for this is given a high priority when she signs any show, movie or commercial.
No one wants to get penalized with a lot of money for a “water” blunder (yes, there’s a penalty!).
Robert Downey Junior
The star of the “Avengers”, Robert Downey Junior has made a long-lasting influence on the people and his Iron Man suit is talked about a lot. People had many questions related to the actor getting ready to portray the character in that suit.
It was revealed that initially, he did not like wearing it. The costume designers put in a lot of effort to ensure that it’s comfortable and easy to carry, however, he still wasn’t impressed.
At one point, when the star got tired of the “outfit”, he denied wearing it all. That’s when the special effects helped and the concerned team added the suit on him digitally!
Ben Affleck
The “Gone Girl” star gave a tough time to the crew of this movie over a scene that involved Affleck to wear a Yankees hat. If you don’t know much about him, then the first thing we would like to tell you is that he is a Boston Red Sox Fan and definitely a true one! So, he refused to get that hat on his head.
Director David Fincher made futile attempts to convince him and finally, both agreed on a Mets hat. A tough one but “legitimate” in the words of the actor himself.
Jennifer Love-Hewitt
An unrealistic demand was raised by Jennifer Love-Hewitt while she was filming for the television show “The Client List”. She had to portray the character of a former beauty queen but she had a baby bump during the filming and it had to be included in the storyline in some way or the other. That’s when Hewitt stepped in and put forward an idea that she expected everyone to follow.
She wanted the baby’s father Brian Hallisay to be cast in the show as well.
Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl might have come a long way after her role on the popular show “Grey’s Anatomy” but the series of events that led her to leave the show made headlines and didn’t land her in a great position.
When she wished to incorporate her own creativity in her role on the show, the producers seemed to be hesitant about it and that’s when things went downhill. She stepped back from the Emmy nomination and claimed that the portrayal didn’t deserve any award.

He wanted to get involved in some technical stuff including screenplay and make changes in the script. It was more than just improvisation. That’s a lot to ask!

Arnold Schwarzenegger
We all know how fit and active Arnold Schwarzenegger is. He has a strict fitness routine that he follows and never skips his gym. So, when Terminator 3 was in making, Schwarzenegger asked for a trailer that had all the gym equipment for him. Nothing less could have been expected from this star!
A three-bedroom deluxe suite and bodyguards were not too far down on the list of demands. There’s more - Schwarzenegger had full control of the hiring of drivers, crew members, hair-stylists, chefs and makeup artists.
We guess it would be fair to say that Terminator 3 was made with this star’s approval on most of the things!
Tom Cruise
We just mention the name of this talented movie star and all you can visualize is his incredible stunts and actions in “Mission Impossible”. That’s the impact he has on his audience!
The fact that Tom Cruise performs his stunts on his own and no body-double involved is known to all. However, this comes with some conditions too. Cruise requires comfortable clothing for easy movements and that can cost a lot to the production. 50 thongs is a big deal for the costume designers of the movie but Cruise’s request can’t be denied!
Lea Michele
You are definitely aware of the amazing TV show “Glee” and the concept that is depicted through the show. In case you are not, we can describe it as a group of singing high schoolers who are participating in a popular and significant competition.
Okay, back to the topic! So, Lea Michele was a part of this TV series and she believed that she drove the show to success. What happened next was that Michele raised her demands on the set of “The Scream Queens” and wanted that her screams should be recorded to play them further in the show. She did not want all the shouting to have an unpleasant effect on her voice as she is a professional singer too!

Her popularity is unmatched and the love she receives from her fans all around the world is great. All this can get to someone’s head at one point or another. When he was shooting for Miami Vice, something strange came to light regarding his demands. Foxx put forward a condition that he wants to get paid more than Colin Farrell, his co-star. His demand was taken care of but Foxx had more on his list.
He made a “request” for private jet and came to the location with many staff members and bodyguards. Moreover, a gunfight on the shoot location had his involvement.
Shannen Doherty
When a movie depicts a story that takes place over a course of one single day, you can’t have many outfit changes of the lead actor, in fact, even a single one doesn’t make sense.
However, Shannen Doherty had a different opinion when she shot “Mallrats”. She demanded a minimum of three wardrobe changes as she had a deal that she can take all the outfits with her. This tantrum is a bit too much to handle especially when the plot was inclined at a different angle.

For Samuel L. Jackson, his one and only demand that is constant for all the movies he is a part of revolves around golf. All he wishes is to have two days of the week dedicated to playing golf. In an interview, Jackson admitted, “Generally they either move me onto a golf course or I join a club so I can play there.”
Golf practice is always a priority for this talented actor in the industry and he can’t skip the only thing he loves while shooting. Well, it might be a good justification!
Gary Busey
Gary Busey made a weird and unexpected remark on the set of “Quigley”. Believe us when we say that it was totally out of the blue for the crew, the director and his co-star. The heaven scene was being shot and when Busey made his way to the set, he suggested a complete change in the appearance of the “heaven”.
You might be wondering the reason for this! It’s not what you might be thinking. Busey believed that his recent near-death experience after a horrible accident gave him an insight into what heaven actually looks like. These were his exact words according to his co-star, “I've been to heaven and it doesn't look like this"--that heaven doesn't have that particular sofa or any mirrors.”

There are always certain stories that make rounds about any celebrity’s behavior on set. In the case of Sharon Stone, there are a few instances revealing her tantrums on set. Her demands are extremely unrealistic and she gets adamant about getting them fulfilled.

She demands that her characters would not be killed in any of her movies. They would be alive until the end. Not hysterical after all! In fact, quite thoughtful of her.
