Weird Celebrity Phobias That Famous People Suffer From

Celebs seem fearless by the way they carry themselves in public. The persona they put up in the public eye makes us feel that they are scared of none. However, that’s not entirely true. Money cannot take the humane emotions away and that is why celebrities have fear engraved in them too. We had heard of some basic phobias but like these stars, their phobias are rare too!

Orlando Bloom — Pigs

Swinophobia is one fear that quite a few people can relate to. Why? Well nobody like the animal that keeps lying in the mud all day long. It seems as if they are sleepy because mud acts like a sleeping pill to them.

On the sets of Kingdom of Heaven, when a Lil piglet was set loose on the set, the actor couldn’t figure out a way to calm himself down and started running at the speed of a gunshot.

Tyra Banks — Dolphins

How can one be afraid of the cutest water animal? Delfiniphobia is a real fear and we are nothing but shocked. Tyra’s long-standing fear started when she was 7 or 8 and she has managed to be afraid of these little munchkins till now. She has mentioned in her now-defunct show. She even said that she used to dream about the animal. She said, “I am afraid of dolphins … I used to have dreams that I was in a swimming pool and dolphins were, like, bumping into my legs.”

Khloe Kardashian — Belly Buttons

The Kardashian clan has always been open about their lives. The show, ‘Keeping Up With Kardashians’, revolves around their lives. But Khloe revealed that she hates belly buttons on her own website. You cannot touch hers and she will never even think of touching yours. She said, “When I’m in the shower, I wear hand mitts and I scream every time I wash my belly button, LOL!” We can’t really imagine that kind of fear but we just researched it and found out that it is called Omphalophobia.

Liam Payne — Spoons

The former one direction star has revealed that he is scared of spoons. He said, “…I don’t like eating with them, if they’re not my spoons if that makes sense.” He further stated, “It is a bit weird. When I was a kid I was a bit naughty at school and when you were naughty they made you do the washing up. I had to wash all these nasty spoons and then it’s just stuck with me after. I don’t know what people are doing with their spoons. I don’t want to know!”

Kendall Jenner — Tiny Holes

We weren’t aware of the fact that there exists a fear called Trypophobia. After our research, we realized maybe we could have the same. The ridiculous sight of holes made us cringe. The phobia is disinclination toward the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps. Jenner revealed the details on her app. She said, “Trypophobics are afraid of tiny little holes that are in weird patterns. Things that could set me off are pancakes; honeycomb or lotus heads (the worst!).”

Alfred Hitchcock — Eggs

Ironically, this man behind most of the scary movies is scared of eggs. His complicated relationship with eggs was explained by him in one of his interviews. He said, “I’m frightened of eggs. That white round thing without any holes … have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid?” Some people do have an issue with the slimy texture of the egg but this one sounds new to us.

Nicole Kidman — Butterflies

While growing up in Australia, Nicole had been coping up with her fear of butterflies – Lepidopterophobia. She revealed the details and said, “Sometimes when I would come home from school the biggest butterfly or moth you’d ever seen would be just sitting on our front gate. I would climb over the fence, crawl around to the side of the house — anything to avoid having to go through the front gate.”

Christina Ricci — Houseplants

Indoor plants enhance the beauty of your home and these pretty plants are the cause of Christina Ricci’s anxiety. So, if you happen to meet her, don’t mention house plants let alone bringing one near her. If she is at someone’s place and she comes across houseplants, she tries to stay away from it. She explained, “They are dirty! If I have to touch one, then it freaks me out. Honestly, I can’t go near them.”

Sarah Paulson — Clowns, Bees and Tiny Holes

Okay, Sarah Paulson is a combination of Kendal Jenner, Johnny Depp, with an additional fear of bees. These are some of the biggest fears of her life. Talking about the fear of bees, she said, “I could be carrying a small child, and if a bee came around, that baby’s getting dropped. I can’t manage my feeling about it.”

Explaining about Trypophobia, she said, “I just think they’re disgusting. I can’t look at a coral reef or a natural sponge.”

Cameron Diaz – Door Knobs

How can one open the door without touching a door knob? Does she take a door opener along with her? Well, apparently Cameron Diaz refuses to touch any of these. No matter what she is not comfortable with the existence of them.

Fortunately, she is famous and rich enough to afford a door opener. We must say, what a lavish phobia! Also, it could be an excuse for being lazy, isn’t it?

Kylie Minogue – Coat Hangers

About a decade ago, in 2010, Kylie revealed her fear of hangers. She has a major issue with them and can’t stand them. 

She explained, “I have a hanger phobia – I don’t like the way they sound when you put them in the wardrobe.” She is so weird about them that she never hangs her clothe and prefers to lay them out so that she doesn’t have to touch them and she doesn’t want her clothes to be hanging on them either.

Ellen Page — Tennis Balls

Ellen Page is afraid of tennis balls! Woah! This woman fears something! However, she did try to overcome her fear and she revealed it during the promotions of X-Men: Days of Future Past. They used tennis balls as props during computer graphic-heavy scenes in the movie.

She said, “It really worked out for me because I’m really afraid of them. I couldn’t tell you what it is. Tennis comes on, I have to leave the room, it’s intense, yeah.

Oprah Winfrey — Chewing Gum

Oprah’s fear of chewing gum is deep-rooted in her childhood. Her grandmother used to save up the used gums and put them up on bedposts and cabinets. She is afraid of the germs on it. A thing that has been taken out of your mouth and then kept outside for quite some days, it can indeed give you some gaggy feeling. Her fear has crossed all bounds and now she doesn’t let chewing gum enter the building she has to shoot in!

Megan Fox — Dry Paper

This woman needs to get everything around her laminated. Well, apparently, she cannot stand any dry paper. Newspaper, scripts or anything that is made up of dry paper makes her go crazy. Another fear she has is of the darkness. She explained, “I’ve been afraid of the dark all my life. I leave the lights on all the time and if the light is off, I have to run across the room to get to the switch. I can’t walk through a dark room. I’m afraid of what I can’t see.”

Rita Ora — Toilets

Rita has to say a lot about her fear and it makes sense to us. She fears that what if she goes to the toilet and something comes up from the bottom and bites her. She said, “I have this thing where I think this tunnel must start from somewhere, and sometimes I think, ‘What if something comes out of the toilet?’”

Helen Mirren — Phones

This one is definitely the most royal fear on this list. For her the invention of the phone is not a help. She said that she always relies on the answering machine and never returns the calls. She gets anxious about talking to people on the phone and avoids calls even if the phone is ringing in front of her.

e wonder if the invention of telephones has got her any benefit or not! How can one be afraid of picking up calls? Does she imagine a monster coming outta it?

Channing Tatum — Porcelain Dolls

Don’t we all love watching The Ellen DeGeneres Show? Well, that is where Channing revealed his fear about Porcelain Dolls. He said, “I just think they’re really super freaky. They have, like, real eyes and they look real. A ‘Friday the 13th’ episode featuring a possessed porcelain doll may have started the phobia.”

He further explained, “I just imagine when I walk by them their heads turn with you the whole time,” he said of the dolls.”

P. Diddy — Toes

We knew some people have a special corner for toes but we were clueless about the phobia that revolves around them. On The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, he said that he has a fear of people’s long second toe. This fear has influenced his dating life pattern as well. He said, “I somehow get to see the toe on the first date, it’s mandatory. I may not go for a kiss, but I’m definitely going to see if that second toe is long.”

How can someone so gorgeous be afraid of a mirror? How can she admire her own beauty? Well, she is not afraid of embracing her own gorgeous bod on the cover of Playboy and that is why she has done it 11 times until now.
