Hollywood has welcomed many stars with open arms who have entertained the audience for many years. Most of those famous faces have reached 100 years and they still have the same energy that they once displayed on the screen. The industry is fortunate to have them and the fans are glad to watch them around reflecting the same spirit and zeal!
Norman Lloyd (105 Years)
Norman Lloyd has graced the world of Hollywood for almost nine decades (wow!) and his experience is spread in various fields including acting, producing and directing. He even worked as a theater artist and on radio apart from television and movies.
He was the director and producer of the anthology TV series, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” which went on for a long time. His last movie before retiring was “Trainwreck” that came out in 2015. He definitely had a long and successful career!
Olivia de Havilland (103 Years)
The stunning actress, Olivia de Havilland ruled The Golden Age of Classical Hollywood being the most sought-after star for the leading roles in various movies. Appearing in 49 feature films is a big deal and this talented actress accomplished that!
Her theater performances are popular too with three appearances on Broadway including Romeo and Juliet in 1951. Her role in the iconic movie Gone with the Wind was appreciated and gave an Oscar nomination.
Even after her retirement, she shows the same liveliness and is going really strong at this age too!
Ruth ‘Dusty’ Anderson (101 Years)
This gorgeous model, Dusty Anderson became a well-known actress after the success in the modeling industry. She made an appearance in Yank magazine. Her debut role was in the musical film “Cover Girl” that starred Rita Hayworth.
She did a few mystery movies including Crime Doctor's Warning (1945). She retired after 10 years of working in Hollywood.
Suzy Delair (102 Years)
The talent of Suzy Delair in the acting and the music industry led her to great success and fame. This French star acted in various amazing films and “Murder Lives at 21” is just one of them. This movie even premiered in New York City in America.
Delair had a beautiful journey in the music as well. She worked till she turned 70 and then decided to retire. Her elegance is not fading away ever!
Earlston J. Cameron (102 Years)
Earlston Cameron is a revolutionary British actor as he became one of the black actors to break the “color bar” in the United Kingdom.
His role in the 1951 movie “Pool of London” gave him great recognition for changing the world of the British film industry. Sounds inspiring, right?

Ruthie Tompson (109 Years)
You are looking at one of the most talented animation artists of her time! Ruthie Tompson’s fate took her very close to The Walt Disney Company and 18-year-old Tompson was offered a job as an inker from them.
We all remember the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs very fondly and if you loved the animation, now you know who was behind all that beautiful creation!
Tompson worked for The Walt Disney Company for 40 years before she took retirement in 1975.
Ida Schuster (101 Years)
Ida Schuster retired as a film and stage actress after doing some great work in the industry. Her famous roles include the one in the Scottish medical drama “Dr. Finley’s Casebook” and the other in the crime show “Taggart”.
This talented star came from Glasgow, Scotland took retirement in 2007 but her work has continued to be etched in the minds of her fans!
Marsha A. Hunt (102 Years)
Being in the industry for more than 70 years, Marsha A. Hunt made a strong impact on the audience with her choice of movies and roles. Some of her movies are “Pride and Prejudice”, “The Happy Time” and “Born to the West”.
She even came in the Hollywood blacklist in the 1950s but during that time, she turned into an activist and worked towards eliminating hunger from the world. This noble work continued and she did a lot of good for all!
Doris Merrick (100 Years)
From modeling to acting, Doris Merrick’s journey saw many ups and downs and she became a successful actress with many wonderful film roles. In 1941, she signed a contract with Warner Bros.
Her acting career started with a role in the movie “Girl Trouble” in 1942 and she took a step out of the industry in 1955 after working in 18 movies.
Jean Erdman (103 Years)
Jean Erdman might have retired now but her dance moves are carried along to date. This amazing dancer and choreographer was even an avant-garde theater director. Her performances have been commendable and were always significant.
In the 1940s, the great works by Erdman included Daughters of the Lonesome Isle (1945) and Ophelia (1946). She danced her way into the industry and left an ever-lasting impact!
Harriet Frank Jr. (103 Years)
To begin describing this personality from those incredible years of Hollywood, we would name the awards that she was honored with during her career - New York Film Critics Circle Awards and the Writers Guild of America Award. Harriet Frank Jr., a film writer, and producer started writing after the Second World War.
Initially she managed everything on her own even after her marriage but eventually, she worked with her husband, Ravetch for almost 33 years and they both did screenplays for many movies.
Marge Champion (100 Years)
Marjorie Celeste Belcher (that’s the name she was born under) was born in a family that had a relation with dancing. So, it was no surprise when her feet tapped perfectly to music.
A ballet instructor at the age of 12, Marge Champion had a remarkable career in dancing in the following years. She became a dance model for the animated films of Walt Disney Studios. She even appeared in film musicals as a dancer and an actress.
Her dance moves can never be forgotten!
Mary Ward (104 Years)
The Australian actress, Mary Ward worked on stage, in films and TV too. She rose to fame with the roles in soap operas “Prisoner”, “Sons and Daughters” in which she played Dee Morrell.
She remained in this field till 2000 before retiring. Ward made many guest appearances in various TV shows. “The Young Doctors” and “A Country Practice” are two of them. She made a comeback to the theater with the play “Alive and Kicking”.
Renée Simonot (108 Years)
Renée Simonot, a French actress began acting when she was only 7-years-old. Being a stage actress for 28 years, Renée Simonot became the “leading lady”.
She became a voice artist too when she dubbed American movies in France. She became a voice for many famous Hollywood actresses Sylvia Sidney, Olivia de Havilland, and Judy Garland. Renée Simonot passed on her talent to her daughters and grandchildren as well!
Nehemiah Persoff (100 Years)
This star spent 52 years of his life in the world of acting taking all kinds of roles in TV series, movies and plays that total to over 200. That’s a lot!
Nehemiah Persoff worked in films that include “Some Like It Hot (1959)” and “Twins (1988)”. Apart from the movies, there are so many TV shows that he did and portrayed amazing characters.
Persoff always had one foot in the world of painting and so, when his health didn’t allow him to stay in acting, he got back to painting.
Diana Serra Cary
Maybe “Baby Peggy” would ring a bell here! Yes, we are talking about that popular child actress from the Hollywood silent movie era.
She worked in more than 150 short films for “Century Film Corporation” over a period of two years between 1921 and 1923. She got the title of “The Million Dollar Baby” as she made $1.5 million in a year. That’s huge!
Soon, she turned into an author and wrote the book titled “The Drowning of the Moon” which was a historical book. Another achievement!
Kirk Douglas (103 Years)
When we think about those glorious years of Hollywood of the past, Kirk Douglas is sure to come up as he made a mark in the movie industry with incredible work as an actor and director.
Douglas took some roles that made history later and rose him to fame! The movie Champion that released in 1949 gave him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. After that, he kept playing phenomenal roles in many successful films.
He retired at 92 years after doing the last movie in 2008.
Sheila Betty Mercier (101 Years)
From beginning on the stage to being a regular on the British show “Emmerdale”, Sheila Betty Mercier came a long way and established herself as a phenomenal actress.
She served in fighter command when she joined the WAAF division of the Royal Air Force during World War II. But acting was her true calling and she went on to do theater and her performances were praised a lot. A few years later, she became a popular face on British television.
In 2009, she made a guest appearance on the same show!
Vera Lynn (102 Years)
This English singer, songwriter, and actress gave amazing musical performances that received great popularity and appreciation during the Second World War.
Vera Lynn got the name “the Forces' Sweetheart” as she performed outside for soldiers in Egypt, India, and Burma during the period of war. She witnessed growth and fame post-war too with many hit songs including “My Son, My Son” that topped the charts in the UK. With her album “We'll Meet Again: The Very Best of Vera Lynn”, she was declared as the oldest living artist to top the UK Albums Chart. Her achievements won’t end if we start writing them now!
Betty White (97 Years)
Betty White was in this industry for 80 years before she took retirement. She explored comedy as well apart from acting and proved to be a success in both! We cannot miss her achievement as a producer as she became the first woman to produce a sitcom giving her the title of “Mayor of Hollywood”.
She received awards for various roles and two of them are Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls” (1985–92) and Sue Ann Nivens on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” (1973–77).
She holds eight Emmy awards and even a Grammy. How incredible is this woman!
