Untold stories from around the world that will make you rethink reality

1. Like a National Geographic scene

Once when I was walking around I saw that there was a blue heron flying through the sky. It had a snake clutched tightly in its beak, and the snake was squirming and wiggling, desperately trying to escape. And to my surprise after some time, the snake managed to wiggle itself free, but the heron was not gonna have it, it quickly caught it with its foot again and magically tossed it right back into its mouth while still in mid-air.

2. Avatar? No

Once I went to an amusement park close to Cincinnati. It was around 20 years ago, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw someone with blue skin. It was like seeing a person with black skin, but their skin was actually blue. I happened to think that maybe it was an alien or the much more realistic possibility that it was a person with some body paint, but no, the skin was actually truly blue.

And later I got to know that there is a famous family in Kentucky who has this condition. But even though it's true, nobody believes me when I tell them about it.

3. Way to get to my butt

I was walking with my friends on a bumpy road towards a swimming pool when someone poked me in the butt with a stick. I turned around to see who it was, but my friends didn't have a stick. It happened again, so I told them to stop bothering me. They looked confused because they weren't doing anything.

As I was still looking at them, I felt another poke. I decided to check what was going on, so I reached into my swim shorts. To my surprise, I found a branch wedged between my butt cheeks. I pulled it out and I swear it still haunts me to this day. I discovered that it wasn’t really a branch after all instead a big grasshopper. It had been trying to squeeze into the crack of my butt. I felt violated by this unusual encounter, but I decided to let the grasshopper go.

4. Clowns are always a bad idea

When I was a kid, I had this really spooky clown hanging on a swing from the fireplace in my bedroom. Even though I'm not scared of clowns, that toy always made me feel like it was watching me. But my parents insisted on keeping it because it was a gift from my grandmother.

One day, I couldn't stand that clown anymore. I must have been around 10 years old because soon after we moved out of that house. I decided that I didn't want it staring at me while I played, so I turned it around to face the wall. It was hanging close to the wall, so I thought it wouldn't just spin back around.

I went back to playing with my dolls, but after a few minutes, I got that creepy feeling again, like someone was watching me. When I glanced over my shoulder, the clown's head was turned the wrong way. I freaked out and ran downstairs, screaming and crying, begging my mom to come up and see.

She came up, but when we reached my room, the whole clown was facing forward again. My mom scolded me for overreacting and making a fuss. So, conveniently, the doll accidentally fell out of my window and broke its porcelain face on the ground. It was a truly terrifying experience.

5. The gym freak ghost

So there was this guy who asked me how to get to Planet Fitness. I told him that it was right across the parking lot. I got distracted by my phone for a few seconds and when I looked up, he had disappeared. There were no cars around, so it seemed like he didn't leave in a vehicle. I looked all around, but he was nowhere to be found. It was like he vanished into thin air. To the fitness ghost, wherever you are, I hope you achieve all your fitness goals.

6. A miracle indeed

A long time ago, I lost a special bracelet that my mother had given me as a gift for my 18th birthday. I used to wear it everywhere and it meant a lot to me. It was really sad when I realized it was gone. But then, after two whole months, something amazing happened. I was just walking down the street, waiting to cross, when suddenly I glanced down at the ground. And there it was, my bracelet, right there on the pavement! It felt like a magical moment, like something out of a fairy tale. I couldn't believe my eyes and kept staring at it, wondering if it was actually real. This is a memory that will stay with me forever.

7. Spiderman wanted to kidnap me

When I was younger and home alone, someone knocked on the door. I had just watched videos about being aware and cautious around strangers and learned that anyone knocking on the door while I was alone might be trying to kidnap me.

Curious, I went to the door and shouted, "Who is it?!" The person on the other side replied, "Spiderman."

At first, I thought this was some strange person trying to trick kids into opening the door by pretending to be Spiderman. But since I was 12 and knew better, I didn't fall for it. Just to be sure, I asked him again, "Spiderman?"

I stood there in silence, not sure what to do. Then he started singing the Spiderman theme song, "Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can."

That scared me, so I quickly locked the front door. Then I ran downstairs to make sure the basement door and the sliding door in my parents' bedroom were locked too. After that, I rushed upstairs and secured the upper sliding door on the back deck.

Finally, feeling safe with everything locked up, I went to my room and hid under the bed until my mom and brother came home.

When they arrived, my mom asked why the door was locked. I told her what happened, but she didn't take it seriously. She dismissed it, saying, "Oh, you must have misheard. That was the Schwann man."

I couldn't believe it. "Schwann" doesn't sound anything like "Spider," and why would he sing the Spiderman theme song? To this day, no one believes that I had a scary encounter with someone pretending to be Spiderman and trying to kidnap me.

8. My hero moment

When I was around 10 or 11 years old, something pretty amazing happened. I was at a big public pool having the time of my life when suddenly I felt that there was a lot of commotion. A kid was in trouble and needed help getting out of the deep end of the pool. Everyone was focused on that, but I noticed something else happening.

Over on the side of the pool, there were two kids who were struggling in the shallow end. The younger boy was holding onto his older sister and they kept going under the water. The sister was really scared because she couldn't keep them both above water.

Without really thinking, I quickly grabbed the boy and held him under my arm. The girl held onto my other arm as I floated them over to the side of the pool. Luckily, their mom noticed that they were crying and rushed over to take care of them. I was still a bit shocked by what had happened, so I got out of the pool.

Hardly anyone saw me do this, except for the kids' mom and maybe one other person. When I told my own mom what had happened, she didn't seem to believe me. That's why I usually don't talk about it, because I don't want people to think I'm bragging. But I'm really glad that the two kids ended up being okay.

9. WWE Birds version

When I was younger, I used to participate in Junior Lifeguards at a small beach in California. Once you reached a certain age, you were expected to help out with the younger kids in the afternoon. It happened to be my turn to assist, and we were leading the kids in some stretching exercises. The leaders were facing away from the water, while the kids were lying on their backs and hugging their knees. For no particular reason, I turned to glance at the water.

To my surprise, I witnessed two seagulls swooping down from the sky. It seemed like they were engaged in some sort of wrestling match. They landed on the shore where the water was only ankle-deep. One of the seagulls gained the upper hand and proceeded to hold the other seagull's head underwater, as if it were trying to drown it. However, the second seagull managed to break free and swiftly stabbed the first seagull in the chest with its beak. In response, the first seagull quickly took off, and the second seagull chased after it.

Despite what I saw, not a single person witnessed the incident or believed me when I shared my story.

10. Have always been special

I was given a special title by the monks at Saint Catherine's monastery in Egypt. They called me a "divine gift."

The monastery was built around the Burning Bush mentioned in the Book of Exodus. Since I was really interested in religions, I asked the monks some questions about the Bush and if they had any other interesting things in their monastery. The monks became quiet and invited me and my family to go with them to see the Burning Bush. Even though we weren't Orthodox Christians, they allowed us to see the remains of the Bush. This is usually only allowed for important people in the Orthodox church, so we felt honored to be the first non-religious people to witness it.

After seeing the Bush, the monks blessed me and declared me as that "divine gift." They also gave me a silver ring with Greek writing on it. I was just a kid back then, so I didn't fully understand the significance. But my mom, who is very religious, was amazed and couldn't believe it. Now that I'm older, I sometimes wonder if they did it as a prank or if they genuinely saw something special in me.

11. Was it even extinct?

In upstate NY, I once saw a black cougar/panther running across the road in front of me at night. At first, I mistook it for a thin black lab, but then I noticed that its tail was as long as its body. It's interesting because Eastern Cougars have been considered "extinct" for over 50 years so how could it be there after all?

12. The squirrel should’ve had a pee check

Two squirrels were getting together in a tree above me. They accidentally fell out and landed on my head, but quickly jumped off and ran away. When I checked my head for any harm, I felt a small wet spot that wasn't blood.

I can't believe it, but it seems like one of those mischievous squirrels may have had a moment of pleasure on my head and peed itself.

13. The 5 seconds that saved my life

This happened on my 19th birthday when I was in college. After my history class ended at 1:10, I quickly got up to leave. Just as I was about to leave, my professor reminded us that we had a test on Friday and told us to study. So, I ended up leaving only about 5 seconds later than usual.

It was a rainy day and the pavement was starting to freeze over. As I walked my usual route home, a truck suddenly lost control and crashed onto the sidewalk just 10 feet ahead of me. It crashed into a light pole. I panicked and ran into a nearby parking lot, worried about any possible power lines that could be dangerous. But wow, if I had left just 5 seconds earlier, I could have been seriously hurt or even killed. I still think about this and to this day I still get goosebumps.

14. A true shark attack

When I was a kid, I saw something pretty crazy. I was on a fishing charter boat, just chilling in the cabin and looking out the window. It was really early, around 6 in the morning. I noticed a seagull peacefully floating in the water, and the boat was just sitting there. Out of nowhere, a shark suddenly appeared and snatched the seagull in one quick bite. It happened so fast, and the bird was gone just like that. I could never have imagined the magnitude of a sharks kills until I saw that.

15. Stay away from a scorpion

I live in the UK. A long time ago, some builders were fixing the fence in our garden. I was a curious kid and decided to stay there all day and watch them. They were halfway done changing the fences when I saw something crawl out of a hole. I got closer to take a better look and couldn't believe my eyes; it was a scorpion! I tried telling everyone about it, but they didn't believe me because it's very rare to find a scorpion in the UK.

Years have passed, and nobody still believes me. I guess I'll keep this memory to myself, but it was really cool to see that scorpion.

16. The shadows in the tall grass

When I was younger, I used to sneak out of the house at night to meet up with friends and do some minor mischief. One of our friends lived a little far away, but we didn't mind because we had to cross through a farm with tall grasses to get to him.

One cool evening, after we had finished our activities at a pool, most of the other teens had gone home. So, I decided to walk my friend home. We walked through the tall grasses in the farm and sat down in the middle by a tree with small boulders. We talked about the usual teenage stuff - crushes, future plans, and dreams of escaping our suburban lives.

There was a moment of silence, and I could hear a dog barking in the distance near the farmhouse. I looked up and saw three human-like figures standing in the tall grass. They were spread out in the field, not moving at all. Just to be clear, there were no scarecrows or trees in that field that could have created those shapes.

I was frozen with fear and looked at my friend, who was also terrified. None of the figures moved. They stayed in one place, indistinct and shadowy. Then, we heard the growling of a dog very close to us, somewhere in the grass, but we couldn't see it. We both got up and ran away, but nothing chased after us - not the dog, not the figures.

We hid behind a car on a suburban street, with the moon hiding behind clouds and only a faint light shining on us. In that moment, I truly believed in ghosts.

I stayed at my friend's house for as long as it took for us to come up with a logical explanation for what we had seen. Eventually, I had to go home, and the only way back was through that field. We also wanted to prove to ourselves that there was a reasonable explanation for what we had experienced. Maybe it was just trees or scarecrows that we had missed. So, we went back to the field with aluminum baseball bats for protection and nervously walked through the area with the tree and the standing stones.

But there was nothing. The field looked the same as before - just tall grass, no shadows, no shapes, no trees, no scarecrows, and no dog. There was nothing to explain what we had seen, but that didn't stop me from running across the property, terrified out of my mind.

17. The cat round table

I live in a condo complex where a lot of people, including myself, have cats. Sometimes, my cat interacts with the other cats outside, and they occasionally have fights.

One day, as I was coming back from school around 3pm, I was about to enter my house when I heard a faint "meow" that sounded like my cat. The sound of meowing grew louder, so I decided to follow it. Eventually, I ended up on someone's porch. Since nobody lived in that condo, I stepped onto the porch. And guess what? I saw around ten to fourteen cats gathered in a circle, having what seemed like a meeting.

To my surprise, all the cats were sitting calmly, including my own, and they were meowing occasionally. They were behaving very politely and there was no hissing, licking, or fighting happening at all.

When I shared this story with others, nobody believed me that I witnessed the neighborhood cats having a meeting. I can't help but wonder what they were planning. Maybe they were plotting a takeover or something!

18. The electric shock by the fish

When I was eleven years old, my family and I were snorkelling in Lanzarote. While swimming, I came across a cute fish that was brightly coloured. The water was very clear, and I decided to swim closer to it and try to touch it. But then something unexpected happened. Out of the fish's mouth, I saw a small flash of lightning shoot towards my fingers. It felt like a mild electric shock, and I quickly came up out of the water, making a startled sound.

My dad noticed something was wrong and asked me about it. When I explained what happened, both of my parents looked at me like I was crazy. At that time, I didn't really know what kind of sea creature could do such a thing, and I was too young to bother looking it up. However, it was always a strange memory that stayed with me - the time a fish gave me an electric shock.

19. A strange creature

When I went to India 20 years ago, I took a bus to travel between cities. The bus ride was at night, so I mostly slept through it. The road was dark and surrounded by a forest. The only light came from the bus headlights, and it felt like we were the only ones on the road.

At one point, I woke up suddenly and looked out the window. I saw a creature on the side of the road, quickly disappearing into the dark woods. I only saw it for a moment, but it was very clear. It looked like something with a human body, but it was moving like a crab, with the head of a doberman dog or jackal. It had a strange, waddling walk, with each limb moving independently, like an insect.

Everyone else on the bus was asleep, so I started to question whether I was imagining things. Maybe I saw something else and my mind played tricks on me. After all, I only caught a glimpse of it. Over the years, I've wondered if it was just a dream. I'm pretty sure about what I saw, but I could be mistaken. There's probably a logical explanation for it.

I'm usually a very logical person and I don't believe in supernatural things. But being in an Indian forest at night can make even the sanest person doubt their own mind. Those forests are truly scary.

20. The bird helped me with my bill

I woke up early in the morning and was using my computer to pass the time before heading to work. Suddenly, I heard a tapping sound on my front window. I thought it might be my father-in-law who lives across the street. I pulled back the curtain and saw a young mockingbird sitting on my window. It made a strange noise and then flew away. I went back to reading, but after about a minute, I heard the tapping sound again. I pulled back the curtains and saw the same bird. It looked at me, made a sound, and then flew to a branch in front of the window.

Since my wife was still in bed, I didn't want her to think I was leaving for work. So I called out to her, "I'm going outside, there's a bird trying to get my attention." I went out through the front door, but by then the bird was gone. However, I noticed a utility truck pulling up in front of our meter. It turned out that we had forgotten to pay the water bill. I asked the guy from the truck to give me a chance to pay it, and then I drove down to the office to settle the bill.

If it weren't for that bird warning me, our water would have been shut off, and we wouldn't have known until I was already gone for the day. The only reason anyone believes me is because I had told my wife about the bird before opening the door.

21. Shark for dinner or shark’s dinner?

I was out fishing with my siblings in Puget Sound. While my mom and brother were struggling to reel in a small dogfish, I felt a strong tug on my own fishing line. It was something much bigger than a little fish. The creature was swimming towards me and then quickly swimming away. I was worried that my fishing rod might break, so I tried to get someone's attention. However, everyone was too busy helping my brother with his catch.

Finally, I realized that I had hooked a huge shark. It was a whopping 7 feet long! The shark came right up to the side of our boat, which was a Grady White 22 at the time. It was so long that it stretched from one end of the boat's cockpit to the other.

Just as someone was finally able to come and help me, the shark snapped the fishing line and swam away underwater. Unfortunately, nobody else saw it except for me.

22. The unusual fight

I went back to my hometown to see my mom, and my brother came too. One night, at around 3 am, we were sitting on the front porch, looking at the lake. Suddenly, we heard a lot of noise coming from a tree above us. Then we heard a loud thump. We went to see what was happening and found a snake wrapped around a squirrel on the ground. But the squirrel had bitten most of the snake's head off.

Both the snake and the squirrel looked like they were still alive, but barely. We were shocked and couldn't believe what we were seeing. Then, out of nowhere, a big owl swooped in, grabbed the tangled mess, and flew away. Even our mom doesn't believe us when we tell her about it.

23. Romance on the floor

I went into a bathroom and was shocked to see two people having sex right on the floor, yes that’s right, in a public washroom and on the floor. I screamed and quickly ran back to my table at the restaurant. From where I was sitting, I could still see the bathroom, so I kept an eye out to see how others would react. A little while later, I saw another girl walk in and when she came out, she seemed completely unfazed. To make sure I wasn't mistaken, I went back into the bathroom with a friend, but this time it was empty.

Even though my friends didn't believe me, I am absolutely certain that I saw and heard a man and a woman having sex on the floor beneath the bathroom sink.

24. I still think about this moment

Sometimes, life can be pretty funny, like a cheesy joke. One time, I was walking with my skis and suddenly slipped on some ice. I fell down and needed some help to get back up. Luckily, there was a girl passing by, so I asked her if she could lend me a hand with my skis. But then she surprised me by saying she didn't have any arms. She showed me her empty coat sleeves, waving them around to prove it. I felt so embarrassed and apologized a lot while trying to get back on my feet. Surprisingly, she just laughed and walked away.

25. Disney moment

I have had a lot of wild animals approach me at different times, without any fear at all. When I was in college, I was walking through the woods between my dorm and the football field where I parked my car. There was an open area where I could see the track team practicing. Since my roommate was on the team, I stopped to watch for a while and leaned against a tree.

I had an apple in my bag, and eventually, I felt a small touch; a baby deer had come up to me and was sniffing my bag. I stayed very still and let it smell me. I noticed that the mother deer was a few feet away. Slowly, I reached into my bag, and the baby deer ran away. I put the apple on the ground and walked away slowly. Later that day, when I passed through the woods again, the apple was still there, but it had some bites out of it.

I have also been hiking and had squirrels and bunnies come up to me without any problems. Birds have even landed near me and didn't fly away. It's really cool, but since it only happens when I'm alone, I don't tell anyone. It's like my own special secret that makes me feel like a disney movie character.

26. Struck by lightning

A long time ago, when I was coming home from school, something really scary happened. I was waiting at a busy intersection, and it was a dark and gloomy day. Out of nowhere, there was a huge noise and it felt like the back of my car exploded. At the same time, there was a bright flash of light in my rear view mirror. I got really scared and then I noticed that the traffic lights had stopped working and it started raining.

I looked ahead and saw a lightning strike in the distance. I also looked around me and saw lots of cars and people staring at me, like they couldn't believe what just happened. Yep, you guessed it, I got struck by lightning, and I was just casually sitting there trying to find someone else who had gotten struck by lightning.

27. The ultimate catfish

I met a guy online and we soon fell in love. We were together for about five months and started making plans to meet in person. However, his sister was tragically killed in a car accident, so our meeting got postponed. After that, he started distancing himself from me. Meanwhile, I went to Baton Rouge with the Red Cross to help after hurricane Katrina. While I was there, I discovered that the guy I thought I was dating was actually pretending to be someone else online. Feeling upset, I ended up getting involved with another guy I knew from the internet, but it turned out he was not a good person.

When I returned home, I called the person who had catfished me. I learned that there was no car accident and his sister was alive; he had just made up the story to avoid meeting me. Eventually, I forgave him and decided to give our relationship another chance. I flew across the country to meet him in person and we fell in love all over again. A few months later, I moved to be with him. Our life together was wonderful and we were very happy for a year.

However, things changed when he had to move for work. Despite my reluctance to leave my great job and the place we lived, I decided to follow him. Just three weeks after our move, he came home one day and broke down in tears. He confessed that he was getting married that weekend, in an arranged marriage. Within 36 hours, he left on a plane and I haven't seen him since.

Tomorrow is the seventh anniversary of his wedding. It may sound like a terrible movie, but this is a true story.

28. Silver surfer or UFO?

Me and another guy were working on an oil rig when we spotted a silver disk floating in the distance, about 200 meters away over the sea. It stayed there for about 5 minutes before suddenly zooming off into the horizon at an incredibly fast speed. It was a very strange sight, but we were too scared of being made fun of to tell anyone about it. It could have been a ufo or the silver surfer from the fantastic four, we would never know.

29. A casual chipotle run

One day, while I was enjoying a meal at Chipotle, something really surprising happened. A helicopter suddenly landed in the parking lot and quickly shut off its engine. A man quickly got out of the helicopter, rushed to get a burrito from Chipotle, and then just as quickly took off in his helicopter again. I was too stunned to speak, imagine witnessing a chipotle run from a freaking helicopter.

30. The airplane curse

My aunt has only flown from Atlanta airport two times. The first time, something really scary happened. The plane she was on got hijacked and taken all the way to Cuba! Eventually, they were sent back to the United States. Can you believe it? The second time she flew from Atlanta, there was another problem. The landing gear of the plane didn't work properly, so they had to do a crash landing on the belly of the plane. It must have been really scary! After these experiences, my aunt has decided to never fly through Atlanta again.

31. The douche I saved

When I was in school, there was this guy I didn't particularly like, but we were in the same class. One day, a van was speeding towards us because its brakes had failed. The driver didn't even bother to warn us by honking the horn. Luckily, I happened to turn around and saw the van approaching. Without thinking, I pushed my classmate out of harm's way, but got hit by the side mirror in the process.

The next day, my classmate went around telling everyone how he had saved my life and how I was crying. I don't really feel too bad about it, though, just thought that he was a douche.

32. Stevie Wonder

When I was 23 years old, I had to stay overnight at the DC-Reagan airport. Before going through security, I was walking along the main strip where you check-in. It was around 1AM, so there weren't many people around because the counters were closed. Suddenly, Stevie Wonder appeared out of nowhere. I paused to greet him and had a brief conversation for about a minute, and then he and his assistant disappeared. I still tell people about it and no one seems to believe me.

33. My movie chase moment

A few years ago, I was at my friend's house late at night near Piedmont Park in Atlanta. I was heading to my car to go home when I walked past an alley and saw two guys with guns standing over a body. They started coming towards me, so I quickly ran to my car, which was just a few feet away. When I left the parking spot, I accidentally bumped into the car in front of me because I was in a hurry.

I came to a stop at a traffic light and sat there in shock for a moment, waiting for it to turn green. Suddenly, I heard screeching tires and gunshots behind me. Without even having a chance to calm down, I immediately accelerated again. I had my phone with me and wanted to call 911, but I was so focused on getting away safely that I didn't want to risk making a phone call.

Luckily, my Mustang was faster than their Dodge Stratus, so I managed to escape quickly by taking side streets and alleys. However, they did manage to shoot at my car when they first caught up to me at the traffic light, and one bullet hit my bumper. Once I was sure I had lost them, I pulled into a gas station and waited for the police to arrive.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, nothing ever came of it and the criminals were never caught. I didn't get a good look at what the guys looked like, but I did provide a detailed description of their car. Throughout the whole experience, I was convinced that I would at least damage my car, but I was fortunate that it was late at night with minimal traffic. Although my car did sustain some damage to the under-body and suspension from driving over rough alleys. But I am more than happy that I got away safe and sound.

34. Me my girlfriend and the rabbit

I was sitting on the edge of a busy street corner with my girlfriend, when suddenly a car coming towards the intersection accidentally hit a rabbit. Instead of being flattened, the rabbit was propelled forward and surprisingly ended up landing in my lap. Miraculously, all three of us - me, my girlfriend, and the rabbit - came out of the incident unharmed. I still think about the funny almost cartoonish situation but always end up being grateful to have made it out alive.

35. Snoop Dog saved me

Once upon a time, when I was in 6th grade on a school trip to an amusement park, I got lost. I was having a great time on my own, not waiting for my classmates, but then I started to worry that I would never find them again.

While I was waiting in line for a ride, a tall, skinny man with black skin started talking to me. I told him that I was lost and he promised to help me find my friends. In the meantime, I ended up following him to a couple more rides. We had a nice chat and eventually went our separate ways after he helped me find some of my friends.

A few years later, I was with my friend flipping through a copy of Rolling Stone magazine when I saw a familiar face. I shouted, "Stop! Remember when I got lost at the amusement park? That's him! That's the guy who hung out with me!"

My friend didn't believe me and said, "Nah, I doubt it. That's Snoop Dogg."

Even now, almost twenty years later, I still believe that Snoop Dogg spent a couple of hours with me, a scared little white girl who was lost at our local amusement park. I don't care what anyone says, they can't take that memory away from me. A few years after seeing him in the magazine, I read that he sometimes hangs out in Denver, so maybe it's possible.

In the end, the story is true, but whether or not it was really Snoop Dogg remains a mystery that may never be solved. But still watch all his interviews hoping that he would someday narrate this story and everyone would believe me.

36. The great elephant escape

I live in Canada, not far from Toronto.

One night, I woke up at 3am to get a drink of water from the fridge. I could see outside into the driveway and front yard from our kitchen. Across the street, I noticed a large, dark shape moving. I didn't think much of it at first. But then, I walked over to the window and took a closer look. And what I saw surprised me - there was an elephant outside! In Canada! Right in my neighborhood!

I stared at the elephant for about 30 seconds. It was moving slowly and using its trunk to pick at trees, but not really doing much else.

I thought it would be a good idea to wake up my wife, since she usually makes better decisions than I do. When I brought her to the window, the elephant seemed to have disappeared from the street. This made my sleepy wife very angry. I started to doubt myself, but then she yelled, "OH MY GOD THERE'S AN ELEPHANT ON OUR STREET."

To handle the situation, I decided to try and lure the elephant onto our lawn. I opened the window and made some elephant noises, like "chi-chi-chi." Surprisingly, the elephant seemed to like it. It started walking towards our house, stepping over our small shrubs. My wife got scared and ran out of the room, slamming the window shut.

So there I was, face to face with an elephant at 3am, just a few feet away. It stood there, checking me out. Meanwhile, my wife was yelling that she was going to call the police from somewhere in the back of the house.

I think the elephant must have heard us talking about calling the police, because it decided to leave.

The next day, we found out that three elephants had escaped from a local traveling circus. Only two of them had wandered into our neighborhood. Nobody really believed me until the news reported the story the next day around noon.

37. Dolls are always creepy

One night, when I still lived at home, I woke up around 2 am and decided to go to the garage to get a soda. As I sat there enjoying my cold drink, I suddenly heard a noise coming from a box or something nearby.

The sound really scared me, so I gathered up the courage to investigate. I walked into the darkness ahead of me, trying to figure out what was making the noise. I'm not kidding, I could have sworn I heard an old toy doll saying things like "I love you!" or "howdy!" It was really strange.

Feeling creeped out, I quickly turned around and ran back inside as fast as I could. As I glanced back in the darkness, I thought I saw something standing there, just watching me. It was really faint, but it gave me chills.

Afterwards, nothing like that ever happened again. The next day, I told my parents what had happened, but they just laughed it off and said I must have been dreaming. But I was 16 years old at the time, and I definitely know the difference between dreams and real life experiences.
